FIREFIGHTERS HONORED
The township committee recently honored three local firefighters who
were recently inducted into the New Jersey State Exempt Fireman’s
Association. Louis Vaile of Willow Grove Fire Company, Kristofer
E. Myers of the Centerton Fire Company and Blaze J. Basich of the
Centerton Fire Company were all honored at the April 24, 2007 Township
Committee Meeting for receiving the special distinction.
To qualify for the association, firefighters have to attend at least 60
percent of all emergencies, fires and drills over a seven-year period.
Mayor Pete Voros also thanked the men for their volunteer service in
Pittsgrove and said “Volunteers are the backbone of the community”.
