> PUBLIC NOTICE TOWNSHIP OF PITTSGROVE ORDINANCE 2006
-___ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 9-2005 INCREASING THE MAXIMUM
PENALTIES FOR ORDINANCE VIOLATIONS FROM $1,250.00 TO $2,000.00 WHEREAS,
pursuant to Ordinance No. 9-2005 the Pittsgrove Township Committee increased
the maximum penalty for any Ordinance violation to $1,250.00, which, at that
time, was the maximum penalty permitted; and WHEREAS, since the adoption of
Ordinance No. 9-2005 the legislature has increased the maximum penalty for
Ordinance violations to $2,000.00; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the
Township of Pittsgrove to increase its maximum penalties to the highest permitted,
$2,000.00; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Township Committee of the
Township of Pittsgrove that all maximum penalties referenced in Ordinance No.
9-2005 be amended from $1,250.00 and increased to the amount of $2,000.00. THIS
ORDINANCE shall take effect according to law. All other ordinances or parts of
ordinances inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such

that the above ordinance was introduced and passed on first reading at a
meeting of the Township Committee of the Township of Pittsgrove in the County
of Salem on February 28, 2006. A public hearing will be conducted by the
Township Committee at its regular meeting to be held March 14, 2006 at 7:30
p.m. in the Municipal Building, 989 Centerton Road, Pittsgrove, New Jersey,
after which the ordinance will be considered for final passage. Constance S.
