MINUTES
JANUARY 9, 2006
The Recreation Advisory Committee held it’s regularly scheduled meeting in the Pittsgrove Municipal Building on January 9, 2005.
Members present were Bruce
Ricards, Audrey Mavroff, Risea Rodgers,
Fiore Copare, Sue Voros and Walt Wenner. Alternate members present were Sam
Amico and Edson Creamer. Sub committee member in attendance was Jeff Ridgway. Linda DuBois notified the secretary of a conflict.
On a motion made by Walt Wenner and seconded by Audrey Mavroff, the aforementioned minutes were approved as submitted.

NEW BUSINESS:
REORGANIZATION
On a motion by Audrey
Mavroff and seconded by Walt Wenner, Bruce Ricards was nominated to be 2006
Chairperson. Nominations were closed.

On a motion by Audrey
Mavroff and seconded by Risea Rodger, Walt Wenner was nominated to be 2006
Co-Chairperson. Nominations were closed

On a motion by Sue Voros and
seconded by Audrey Mavroff, Donna Metzger was nominated to be 2006
Secretary. Nominations were closed

Meeting dates for 2006 were
established and will be advertised and posted as required.
Dates for Pittsgrove Day
(May 20, 2006 with a rain date of May 21, 2006) were chosen and will be sent to
Township Committee for approval. Linda DuBois had already been chosen as
Chairperson for Pittsgrove Day. The date of April 8, 2006 with a rain date of
April 9, 2006 for the Easter Egg Hunt had already been approved. On a motion by by Fiore Copare and seconded
by Walt Wenner, Sue Voros was chosen as Chairperson with Audrey Mavroff as Co
Chairperson of the Easter Egg Hunt.

OLD BUSINESS:
GROUP INSURANCE
Jeff Ridgway will speak to Dave Mulford, Township
Administrator to see if anything has developed and report back in February.
FEES FOR
USE OF SCHOOL FACILITIES
Dr. Copare spoke with the school board and the policy
for charging sports organizations will be reviewed by the school board.
PARK
REQUESTS
Secretary notified PSC, Pittsgrove Midget Football and
Generals DFL that requests have been approved contingent upon detailed
schedules from each group
FACILITY
VISITS
Bruce Ricards would like the committee to travel as a
group to some other recreational facilities to get ideas for Pittsgrove
Township. Possible locations are West
Deptford, Hamilton Township, Washington Township and Buena. The secretary will try to arrange for
someone to meet the Recreation Committee members at these sites. Bruce Ricards would like to see grants
obtained to fund projects the committee might like to see take place in
Pittsgrove.
ODD
FELLOWS HALL
Facility is progressing. Township Committee should be able to provide detailed information
about use shortly.
UNITY
PARK
Jeff Ridgway reported nothing happening at this
time. The $100,000.00 grant that was
applied for was not received. Another
grant will be applied for this year.
ANIMAL
ORDINANCE
Secretary reported Public Works has been directed to purchase a larger sign to be placed at Green Branch Park. Members of the committee suggested that the zoning officer be used to help enforce the animal ordinance along with employees of public works since they are at the park often during work hours. Members also suggested that the animal control used by the township might also be useful in enforcement. On a motion by Risea Rodgers and seconded by Sue Voros these suggestions will be sent to Township Committee.

Voros and seconded by Audrey Mavoroff, the meeting was adjourned at 8:40pm.
