Sue Voros received
information regarding outdoor movie and wanted to see if committee was
interested in pursuing such an event.
Ralph Padilla commented he had attended one and in was a very nice
event. Walt Wenner informed the
committee that Pittsgrove Midget Football has screen available and Linda DuBois
said the Parvin State Park Appreciation Committee has projection
equipment. Both organizations have done
similar activity in the past. Walt, Linda and Ralph Padilla will work on the
idea and report back to the committee next month.
PARK REQUESTS
On a motion made by Fiore
Copare and seconded by Audrey Mavroff, park request from Misty Lore to have a
wedding at Deer Pen Park was approved.
VOTE: ALL IN FAVOR
OLD BUSINESS:
PITTSGROVE DAY
Linda
DuBois reported donation letters have been sent and donations are already
coming in. Applications for event have
been prepared and members received them to review. Fireworks information was reviewed and will be forwarded to
Township Committee for approval. PSPAC
is still going to handle entertainment (rides, games, etc.) for the day and the
Recreation Committee is not responsible for that aspect of the day. Volunteers will be needed to help with trash
clean up on day of the event.
Linda
also reminded members of the committee to respond to the Appreciation Dinner if
they have not already done so.
EASTER EGG HUNT
Sue
Voros said the event is coming together.
She needs volunteers to arrive at around 11:30am that day to help set
up. Flyers will be distributed to the
schools and event will be advertised. Sue said if any of the sports
organization would be interested in selling refreshments that day the
concession stand is available.
GROUP INSURANCE
Jeff Ridgway and Dave Mulford, Township Administrator have
spoken with the insurance carrier for the township and this seems like a really
good idea. Jeff is getting necessary
information from the various sports organizations and get a quote from the
insurance carrier.
PARK
REQUESTS
Secretary informed members the only detailed schedule
she has received is from the Pittsgrove Flag Football. None of the other groups that have been
approved have been able to provide the schedules yet.
The Secretary wanted to pass on information from Harry Snyder, Pittsgrove Public Works Manager. Harry found the women’s restroom at the concession stand had been opened and used over the weekend without the water being turned on. The water is turned off in the winter. It appeared that someone with a key had opened the facility and never locked it back up. Members agreed it would be a good idea to change the locks and issue new keys so that anyone using a key they shouldn’t have would not be able to get into the facility. Jeff Ridgway is going to look into having that done.
FACILITY
VISITS
Committee members were scheduled to visit other
facilities on Saturday, February 11th but it was cancelled due to
the weather. Visitation has been
rescheduled for Saturday, March 25th. Members decided to just visit one facility in Hamilton Township
on this trip.
ODD
FELLOWS HALL
Facility is operating. The second phase of the renovations should start shortly.
ANIMAL
ORDINANCE
Township Committee is still waiting to hear from the
Township Solicitor on this matter. Committee will revisit next month.
BUDGET
Jeff Ridgway and Linda DuBois reported the finance
committee has been meeting and budget is still being worked on.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business on a motion by Audrey
Mavroff and seconded by Ralph Padilla, the meeting was adjourned at 8:40pm.
VOTE: ALL IN FAVOR
Respectfully submitted,
Donna Metzger, Secretary
